Privacy Policy

Introduction

Digital Footprint Solutions, Inc. (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information when you use our website and services. It applies to information collected from users in the United States. By accessing our website or using our services, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to provide you with our web design, development, and software services. This includes:

  • Contact Information: When you fill out a contact form or communicate with us, we may collect personal identifiers such as your name, email address, phone number, or company name. Providing this information is voluntary and only requested to respond to inquiries or provide our service.

  • Payment Information: We use third-party payment processors (such as Wave Apps and Stripe) to handle payments. If you purchase our services, billing details (like credit card information or billing address) are collected and processed by these third-party services, not by us directly. We do not store your full credit card information on our servers. (Please refer to the privacy policies of Wave Apps and Stripe for details on their data handling.)

  • Service Usage Data: When you use our Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platforms or WordPress-based services, we may collect account information (e.g. username, email) and any content or data you input into the service. This is used solely to operate and support the SaaS or website functionality.

  • Analytics Data (Cookies and Usage): Our website uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors interact with our site. Google Analytics may automatically collect information such as your IP address, device identifiers, browser type, pages visited, and the date/time of visits through cookies or similar technologies. Because Google Analytics uses cookies and can log IP addresses, it may collect data considered personal information. This usage data helps us improve our website’s design, functionality, and marketing efforts. You can set your browser to refuse cookies or alert you when cookies are being used; however, some site features might not function properly if cookies are disabled.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information such as Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, financial account passwords, or biometric data. We also do not intentionally collect any information from individuals outside the United States, and our services are directed to U.S. users only.

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • To Provide and Improve Services: We use your contact information to respond to inquiries, provide quotes, and communicate about projects. Personal information you provide allows us to carry out our web design and development services and deliver the finished product to you. We may use usage data and feedback to improve our service offerings, troubleshoot issues, and enhance user experience.

  • To Process Transactions: Payment information (handled via third-party processors) is used to bill you for our services. We may record basic transaction details (such as invoice amounts and payment confirmations) for accounting and record-keeping.

  • To Communicate with You: We may send administrative emails regarding project updates, invoices, technical notices, or policy changes. With your consent, we might also send occasional marketing or newsletter communications about new services or promotions, but you can opt out of these at any time.

  • Analytics and Improvements: Data collected through Google Analytics and cookies is used to analyze website traffic and usage patterns. This helps us understand what parts of our website are of most interest to visitors, measure the effectiveness of our content or marketing, and make informed improvements. All such analytics data is collected in aggregate form and is not used to identify you personally.

We will not use your personal information for any purpose that is incompatible with the purposes outlined above without obtaining your consent.

Cookies and Third-Party Analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to distinguish you from other users and to optimize your experience. Cookies are small text files placed on your device that help us remember your preferences and track site usage. Specifically, we use cookies for:

  • Google Analytics: GA4 places first-party cookies that allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve site performance. These cookies may track information such as how you arrived at our site, which pages you viewed and for how long, and what actions you take. As noted, Google Analytics collects cookies and IP address data which are considered personal data under some privacy laws. We use this information solely for statistical analysis.

  • Functionality: Certain cookies remember your choices (e.g., cookie consent preferences) to provide a more personalized experience.

By using our site, you consent to the placement of these cookies. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. In addition, Google offers an Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on that you can install to prevent Google Analytics from using your data in any form. We honor any such opt-out signals or settings. Please note that if you disable cookies, some features of our site may not function as intended.

Sharing and Disclosure of Information

We value your privacy and handle your personal information with care. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes. The personal information we collect is used by our company and shared only in limited situations, such as:

  • Service Providers: We may share information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our business. This includes companies that provide website hosting, email delivery, customer support, analytics, or payment processing. These third parties are authorized to use your personal information only as necessary to provide services to us (for example, our internet hosting provider may technically have access to data stored on our website server, or our payment processor will handle your credit card details). We require these providers to implement appropriate safeguards to protect your information.

  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose personal information if we are required to do so by law or if we have a good-faith belief that such disclosure is necessary to comply with legal obligations. For example, we might disclose information in response to valid subpoenas, court orders, or regulatory requests. We may also disclose information when we believe it’s necessary to enforce our agreements, protect our rights or property, or ensure the safety of our customers or others.

  • Business Transfers: In the unlikely event that our company undergoes a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information we have collected may be transferred as part of that transaction. If such a transfer occurs, we will ensure the recipient agrees to protect your personal data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Outside of these circumstances, we do not disclose your personal information in the ordinary course of business to any third parties. If additional sharing of your data is needed, we will explain at the time of collection or obtain your consent when required by law.

Data Security

We employ reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect the information you provide us from unauthorized access or disclosure. This includes using secure servers, encryption of sensitive data (such as using HTTPS on our site and letting Stripe/Wave handle credit card info securely), and restricting access to personal data to our staff and service providers on a need-to-know basis.

While we strive to protect your information, please understand that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. Thus, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data transmitted to our site or stored on our systems. You transmit information to us at your own risk. In the event of a data breach that compromises your personal information, we will notify you and any applicable regulators as required by law.

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. For example, if you are a client, we will retain your contact and project information for the duration of our business relationship and for a reasonable period thereafter to maintain records of our services. We may also retain certain information to comply with legal obligations (e.g., accounting/tax records), resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. When personal information is no longer needed, we will securely delete or anonymize it.

Your Rights and Choices

We respect your control over your personal data. Depending on applicable law and our business practices, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your information:

  • Access and Correction: You can request information about the personal data we hold about you and ask us to correct any inaccuracies.

  • Deletion: You may request that we delete personal information that we have collected from you (for instance, if you withdraw from our services). Do note that we might need to retain certain data for legitimate business or legal reasons (for example, records of transactions for financial reporting).

  • Opt-Out of Marketing: If we send marketing emails, you can opt out at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in those emails or contacting us directly. Even if you opt out of marketing, we may still send you transactional or administrative communications (such as invoices or service updates) that are necessary for our business relationship.

  • Do Not Track Signals: Our website currently does not respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals, as there is not yet a consensus on how to interpret these signals. However, you can manage cookie preferences as described above under Cookies.

To exercise any of these rights or if you have a privacy-related request, please contact us using the information in the “Contact Us” section below. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests (to ensure we don’t disclose your data to someone else). We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe and as required by law.

California Privacy Rights: Although our services are intended for U.S. clients primarily and we do not meet the thresholds of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as a large data collector, we still affirm that we do not sell personal information of our users. If you are a California resident and you do send us a request pertaining to your data, we will do our best to accommodate applicable requests in line with CCPA’s spirit (such as providing you any personal information we have about you or deleting it, as applicable). We do not share personal data for third-party direct marketing.

Children’s Privacy

Our website and services are not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 years old. If you are under 13, please do not use or provide any information on this site, including your name, address, telephone number, or email address. In the event that we learn we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we will promptly delete that information from our records. If you believe we might have any information from or about a child under 13, please contact us so that we can take appropriate action.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update or amend this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. If we make material changes, we will notify users by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date at the top. Any amended Privacy Policy will become effective once posted, unless otherwise required by law. We encourage you to review this page periodically for the latest information on our privacy practices. Your continued use of our website or services after any changes to this Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
